About Us

Formerly Laura Smith, she was born and raised west of DeWitt, Nebraska where she worked with her parents, Dr. Roy and Karen Smith, and her sister Deanna Jo Martin in the daily operation of Rodeo Solutions, LLC.

Married in 2018, LAURA and her husband MICHAEL WELLS live in Plymouth, Nebraska. HORSE POWER EQUINE & TRAINING is now located at their ranch with the recent addition of a NEW INDOOR FACILITY in the FALL of 2021! Laura enjoys giving Private One On One Lessons to a wide variety of ages and skill levels.

This is a unique horse program focused on raising a select number of foals each year sired by the HORSE POWER EQUINE SIRES – STREAKIN ALI and STOLI AND WHISKEY! We sell progeny of a variety of ages and levels of training, from finished Barrel Racing horses, to prospects to weanlings. Laura will also train a select number of outside horses with a goal of furthering each horse in their training to progress them in Barrel Racing and/or Breakaway Roping.
